Are you scared of THUNDER?
If you’re scared of thunder or lightning it’s
ok, because, in this fiction story, you will read about a young 10-year-old boy
named Peter who has a fear of lightning particularly known as the phobia of
“Astraphobia”. You will also learn what to do in case of a thunder emergency.
Once upon a time, a family of 3 lived in Canada,
Toronto but their father sadly could not find a job suitable for him which
cause them to migrate to America, Florida. Peter had to hardly say goodbye to
his friends and relatives, but you got to do what you got to do. When they
arrived at their new home, they didn’t know that the area where they were had
the most recorded thunderstorms, and unfortunately 10-year-old Peter had a
phobia called “Astraphobia” (Fear of lightning). Peter still missed his home
but he did like the fact that their new home country had warm-hearted people,
which meant that he will sooner or later make new friends.
The next day Peter went out exploring hoping to
find friends.
While he explored, he saw the sea, the sea was
very beautiful and stunning, Peter was dazed by the size of the sea. While he
was admiring the sea, he saw something in the corner of his eye. Peter thought
to himself “Is that a graph? But what is it about?” He went closer and closer
until he saw it. “NOOOOO…!” screamed Peter in terror! Peter ran as fast as the
wing but it was to late. Big dark black clouds surrounded him, Peter was
shivering in terror and just then KABOOM! Went a lightning bolt 10 meters away from
Peter. At this point, the temperature was decreased from 18 degrees Celsius to
5 degrees Celsius. To make matters worse it started raining. Peter was
shredding tears one by one almost enough to fill a gallon jug. Peter looked for
a tree, but BANG! A tree in the distance was burnt down to
crisps.
He soon realized lightning finds the nearest
thing to strike, with that in mind he rolled and tried to avoid anything tall.
Peter found a small metal nail.
And then, BOOOOM! The lightning bolt strikes the nail, only two
meters away. Peter felt like he was
going to have a heart attack. He said to himself, “Focus Peter lighting only
strikes any tall or pure metal.” And then he could see his home, he ran with
all his might trying to doge tall or metal things. “At last” “MOOOOM!” cried,
Peter there was a thunderstorm and guess what! I am a MAN! (Trying to sound
like a man) I am not scared of lightning. That day onwards he actually loved
the rain, his new house was fully decorated and best of all new friends.
